Well Today we went to our first "class" where the teachers gave speeches and briefly explained to the students what they would be doing. Then we got lunch and toured the campus. Afterwards we got to speak with the dean of education which is usually where we sit in a giant conference room with intercoms and listen to a boring speech and watch an even more boring slideshow. It was just what the students needed.

Anyways yesterday I go to see some of my monk students and was bestowed with many gifts including a cell phone because one of the monks had an extra one so I will be borrowing it during my stay. It was very nice of him. Also, I got a painting, a neon bracelet with gold beads, a chubby baby figurine playing the saxophone, a journal, and a future job offer at wat Suan Dok. It was overall very flattering and I'm glad to know that they missed me so much.

We took the students around Chiang Mai a little bit yesterday . It was great to be able to share everything that I love so much about Chiang Mai with other people. Tonight we have our fancy dinner and I will become a traditional Thai person sort of and afterwards I'll try to call my home with my new cell phone because I don't know the phone number yet to give it away. Its very long and I forgot to bring it with me.

I will be starting my internship early and my classes will begin tomorrow as well. The plan is to get the interviews completed as soon as possible and then I can write and hopefully finish early so I can enjoy myself a little more while I am here.

If yoou e-mail me go back to using the hotmail account because my school account is way to slow and I spend my hour just waiting for it to load.

Hi Amy,
Sounds like an exciting trip! What will you be doing this year and how long is your stay? Will you be visiting the big slide again (haha)? Have fun!
