Almost done

So we are almost finished. We are once again back in Chiang Mai and the group leaves May 2 and I leave May 10. I will be doing a tour of norther thailand instead because Laos would take longer than expected to get to and i do not want to stay here any longer than the extra 8 days..I miss every one.

The village has been amazing. We caught frogs at night in rice fields, killed pigs and snakes, Britti ate bugs, I caught them. I got to hear Karen folktales by an old Karen man in a Karen bamboo house by a fire. Thats what I did my paper on..Karen folktales. It was basically awesome. One of the funniest things was being chased by a 5 year old girl holding a bug the size of a bird that dove for my face and us saying "mai ow, mai ow" which means we don't want the bird bug diving at our faces.

I got to meet a Karen lady who was like 100 years old and drink tea with ehr and hear her life story. That was cool too.

We continued to take showers out of buckets and eat fish heads and chase cows out of the yard. Its a compelely different life but I really loved it.

I took a picture of a squatty potty for you all to see and of one of the bugs..the bugs pictures were great quality so I ended up deleting most of them.

I would like to give an ovaltine yen instrutional do it yourself class as well as make sticky rice if I can find it anywhere in the US.

Its good to know that I can eat bugs and frogs now, watch people cut up pigs, stink and not care, wear the same pants for a week, and love evryone else regardless if they are dirty or not as well. We learned alot about living simply and being stasfied with what you have. I hope to go back some day because I really loved it and once again I have great pctures but you'll have t wait until I return home...trust me its worth it.

Amy
