The Ahka Village
So we went to the Ahka village over the weekend which is why I haven't posted. It was amazing! First when we show up you see rice fields and water buffalo and then a small village wih houses made out of bamboo and thatched roofs. We went for a hike to their water source which was really awesome because we got to hike through the rain forest. The path completely lacked safety standards but I did fine thanks to my training once again.
We paired up and stayed in the huts which was quite the experience. I really loved it. There would be five people sleeping in one room. They fed us lots of rice and fried morning glories which was really good. We went swimming in an amazingly beautiful waterfall and sat in a hot spring. I rode on top of the taxi truck with my friends and sunday we went to a Lisu village service.
I really had an amazing time there and the funny thing was tourists pay $100 a night for a phony village and we got the real thing.
My host family took me to the Chiang Mai night Sarafi which was amazing. I got to see white Bengal tigers. It was a lot of fun
The ironic thing is that my host parents and Aunt and Uncle came and all the cousins. So the parents were chatting together whilc ethe kids ran around doing crazy things and playing game togther....sound familiar?
Also, when we road on the tour bus my host family wanted the front so they waited even though there was another bus available. Then when they saw the next bus coming every on eup and ran for the front while others just stared on. Some how this reminded me of the fam back home.
Weird things I have eaten:
pig intestine
Crayfish
ants
morning glories
gellied fruit
love always
Amy
