A Long Night

For all of you who were rooting for me, bad news, I did nto win :( Actually for me that was great news and I can tell you why...

We showed up at the hotel to get ready and we were a group of strangers from US, sweden, Israel, England, China, and Italy. First thing they have us do is change in front of everyone which was extremely awkward. But I managed to stay hidden the whole time I changed. Then they tried to give me a belly shirt which I was definately not feeling so I told them no and made them give me a whole one. Then there was this sketchy man who kept coming in when everyone was changing so when I was supposed to change I had the lady kick him out. It was interesting to try to be modest.

Then we got these extreme modern hairdo's, although mine wasn't bad, and make-up, and pizza which was nice. Then the when we are all dressed this lady tells us we need a talent which no one has and so we're getting nervous.

Then we are police escorted to the festival and show up to see the really Miss Chiang Mai contestants who were absolutely beautiful. It made me feel like a dirty street bum. (hehe) Anyways we went on stage and I couldn't stop laughing the whole time because it was fun.

Miss Italy was wicked shy and kept walking to the back of the stage and wouldn't go through with it...that was funny too. All the Swedish girls were drinking in between breaks and by 11pm winning was the last thing I wanted to do. So when I didn't, lets just say I was pretty excited. The reason is the winner had to be at the parade at 6 am...yuck. We left around midnight and went to sleep around 1 am.

I enjoyed the experience alot because it was fun to simply make fun of everything. Our clothes, the situation, the model who walked us out, everything was simply hilarious. I had many fans in the audience which made me proud.

If any of you ever plan to do that seriously...good luck. I don't possess that certain flair to take something like a beauty pageant seriously.
