Why is this man in yellow in my room??

So today started out as a pretty low key day. Went to class, had lunch with a friend, stopped by the library, and took a nap. Naps are a regular part of my law school study habits. We are always doing so much and taking in large amounts of information on a regular basis, so I use naps to keep myself going.

Well for whatever reason today I was extra tired. I'm just assuming it was because I was up late last night and I went for a run. So after class I rush back to get an hour of sleep before beginning my reading. I sleep with ear plugs and an eye cover and am pretty much a zombie to the world when I'm really tired. I had already reset my alarm to sleep longer, and I hear this piercing ringing. Now at night every now and then there's a weird ringing noise so I just ignore it. Today it was particularly loud so I took my pillow, covered my ears, and went back to sleep.

Next thing I know, a man is banging on my door yelling "Public Safety." He told me we were having a fire drill. All I could think of was "who is this man in my room and why is he wearing a yellow suit?!" (no glasses, can't see anything) I literally fell out of bed trying to find my glasses and shoes. He gives me a hint saying "I can't leave until you're out you know." So I grab some shoes, put on my skirt (luckily I had a slip on-old school) and grab my glasses and keys, go out barefoot, put on my shoes and belt, and schlump to the parking lot.

Luckily for both me and the yellow fireman, its not as hot this week as it was last week so I did have clothes on, not just underwear, and no one was embarrassed.

Both my roommates were in the apartment at the same time and left because they didn't know I was in my room.

All of this is good to know in case we ever have a fire which happens frequently...
