Robert

So here at Pepperdine, we have a lot of animals. Its like a Disney movie (which I may have mentioned before) and quite honestly its really odd that the animals don't run away.

Well we have deer that mow the lawn for Pepperdine, raccoons that take out the garbage, and apparently coyotes that try to take out....um cars.

So some friends and I are driving back from a sushi night just chatting and enjoying ourselves when I see something moving on the highway out of the corner of my eye. I turn to look and there is a helpless coyote who was trying to cross the road but was stuck between bushes and a guardrail. I yell so the driver doesn't hit him (Bambi moment) and we stop.

I do what any reasonable person would try to do-I whistle for Robert (yes I named him, that's what we Kennedy's do with stray animals) and try to get out of the car to help him. He turned when I whistled and I was sooooo close to saving him but then my friend drove off and Robert was left to fend for himself.

So that is the story of Robert the coyote and some day I will look for him and try to make him my pet like in a Disney movie where I can't remember the name but Barry would know.

Some day......
